Our story

Fábrica de Fabricos de Vilarinho was founded on the 16th of December in 1932, and was located on the bank of the Vizela River. It starts working with 61 mechanical looms for the manufacture of cotton, silk and mixed fabrics.

Internationalization began in the 60s, to Africa, with the sale of 100% cotton fabrics to the countries of Angola, Mozambique and Guinea.

In the early 1970s, with the investment in automatic looms, Vilarinho started to manufacture and export to Europe, especially kitchen towels and flannels, both for shirts and bed sheets.

Vilarinho made a significant investment in the creation of new facilities. This important step was accompanied by the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and machinery. This initiative reinforced our position as an organization committed to providing high quality textile products and seeking innovation.

With the increase in demand and recognizing the importance of meeting the needs of our customers and maintaining the quality of our products, we invested in a strategic expansion of our facilities. Through this expansion, we acquired new state-of-the-art equipment, modernized our production processes and improved operational efficiency.

Vilarinho embarked on an exciting journey of innovation and progress, having invested in state-of-the-art technology systems in order to guarantee the continuity of its success.
Recognizing the environmental impact of traditional energy sources and the urgent need to reduce its carbon footprint, it took the first steps towards sustainability and a greener future by investing in solar energy.
